The Circuit

The circuit for the Town Centre Races takes in several key areas of Barnsley town centre.  Starting under the gaze of the Town Hall, competitors will make their way up Church Street, past the Cooper Art Gallery towards the College, before taking a tight right turn onto Eastgate.

After briefly crossing Regent Street, competitors will then pass Mandela Gardens and the Civic Theatre as they enter the narrow lane of Eldon Street South, before taking a tight right turn onto Eldon Street.  Competitors will then have a fast and flat route up Eldon Street before the short climb up Market Hill.

Do you want to have a go?

You too could experience the thrill of the circuit by taking part in the Barnsley Community Ride.  A dedicated ride aimed at families (children must be aged 8 upwards) due to be held at 4.30pm, before the start of the races.  For more information and to book your free place, visit the British Cycling website:
