Back by popular demand… the Club is running a programme of Welcome Rides again this summer
The rides will be around 30-35 miles long, run at a leisurely pace and include a café stop. A road bike or hybrid is recommended to ensure people get the most out of these rides and the pace will be comfortable, around 12mph.
We meet at Town End Roundabout (by Costa Coffee) alongside all the regular club runs. Experienced club riders and our trained ride leaders will be on hand to show people the ropes and keep new riders company.
We have run the Welcome Rides for the last two summers and it’s been really good to see people come to a ride for the first time and then progress from the Welcome Rides to become regular club riders, often going on to ride the evening 10s, sportives and other big events. So please come along and give it a go. You just need a road bike or hybrid bike, along with water, appropriate clothing for the weather and a spare innertube (in case of puncture) as well as a few quid for the cafe stop.
