Our Club Rides

We have 3 standard club rides that depart each Sunday to suit all levels of cycling ability, but with a key principle (no one gets left on their own)

This ranges from rides of 30 miles including a cafe stop, riding at an average of between 12-15 mph, right up to rides of greater distance and speed tackling some of the best route in the country – If you fancy a ride, turn up at Townend roundabout in Barnsley (KFC).

All club run destinations, including meet times are published on the club ride calendar. For further information contact us at enquiries@barnsleyroadclub.org.uk

PLEASE NOTE – Barnsley Road Club cannot accept any responsibility for accidents to riders or third parties on a club run. Anyone attending a club run does so at their own risk.
All riders should preferably possess a mechanically sound road bicycle, if your bicycle is deemed not roadworthy, then on the grounds of safety the Barnsley Road Club have the right to not allow you to accompany them.
All riders either 16 or under MUST be accompanied by a parent, guardian or a responsible adult.
All riders should preferably wear helmets, have appropriate repair tools, spares and carry refreshments (water, energy bar or equivalent).

Welcome Rides

Our Welcome Rides are aimed at cyclists who have started to ride to work or ride at the weekend and are looking to step up and do a little more.

The rides will be around 30-35 miles long, run at a leisurely pace and include a café stop.   A road bike or hybrid is recommended to ensure people get the most out of these rides and the pace will be comfortable, around 12mph.

The rides are held monthly – running on Sunday April 29th and on Sunday 20 May, and then held on the last Sunday of each month until September.
