This sportive covers the entire Barnsley Metropolitan Boundary taking in some breath taking countryside as well as the unrelenting Haigh Bank to finish off. George, Our Club President has put forward a challenge to all our members on Strava!
Who can ride 10,000 miles in 2017! (That's 16,094 in Km!)

All miles must be actual recorded miles on Strava, between:

Jan 1st 2017 to Dec 31st 2017 An average of approx 250 miles per week.

No Turbo or Manual entries allowed.

B.R.C. Sunday `B` Group ride

To all cyclists who possess a moderate riding ability and reasonable road awareness. Would you like a steady ride around 30 miles including a cafe stop, riding at an average of between 12-15 mph depending on terrain? If so turn up at Townend roundabout in Barnsley (outside KFC) at the same time as the main Club Run. All club run destinations, including meet times are published on the website events calendar. Barnsley Road Club cannot accept any responsibility for accidents to riders or third parties on a club run. Anyone attending a club run does so at their own risk.
All riders should preferably possess a mechanically sound road bicycle, if your bicycle is deemed not roadworthy, then on the grounds of safety the Barnsley Road Club have the right to not allow you to accompany them.
All riders either 16 or under MUST be accompanied by a parent, guardian or a responsible adult.
All riders should preferably wear helmets, have appropriate repair tools, spares and carry refreshments (water, energy bar or equivalent).

Evening Events

The BRC evening events continue this Wednesday. First rider off at 19.01, there are normally people there by 18.30, and participants tend to hang around for a cuppa and a chat afterwards as well. Maximum of 40 riders per event, so make sure you get there in plenty of time to sign on.
